Split a PDF — Extract the Pages You Need

What this tool cannot do

• It cannot open a PDF that needs a password. Remove the password first in the app that made the file.
• It does not make pages smaller or lighter. The pages you keep stay exactly as they were.
• It does not change what is written on a page. To black something out, you need a proper redaction tool.
• Digital signatures do not survive, because a signature is only valid for the exact file it was made for.
• A very large PDF, or splitting a long document into one file per page, can be slow or run out of memory on an older phone.
• Your original file is never changed. The tool always writes a new one.

Reading the result

The line at the top tells you how many pages the file has, so you know what page numbers you can ask for. After splitting, the tool says how many pages went into the new file and how big it is. If that number is lower than you expected, check the page box — a number higher than the last page is simply ignored.

What this tool does

Often only part of a document matters. An office asks for page three of a contract, or you want to send one page of a long statement without sharing the rest. This tool lets you pick exactly which pages to keep and builds a new PDF from them, leaving the original untouched.

How to use it

1. Choose your PDF.
2. Type the pages you want, like 1-3, 7, 10.
3. Tap Split.
4. Download the new file.

Tips that actually help

• Use a dash for a range and commas between separate pages.
• Sending only the pages that are needed is good privacy practice.
• Check the new file before you delete anything.
• To take pages out instead, use Delete Pages.
