Merge PDF Files
Put several PDF files together into one document, in the order you want. You can also pick which pages to take from each file. Your documents stay on your device — nothing is uploaded.
What this tool does
It takes two or more PDF files and writes them into a single new PDF, one after the other, in the order shown on screen. The pages themselves are copied across untouched, so the text stays selectable and the quality does not drop. You can also tell it to take only some pages from a file instead of all of them.
When you need it
- An application asks for one PDF, but your letter, CV and certificates are separate files.
- You scanned a document in two goes and ended up with two files.
- An office or a school portal only lets you attach a single file.
- You want one PDF that holds a contract plus its appendix.
- You need chapters, invoices or receipts collected in one document.
How to use it
- Tap Choose PDF files and pick the files. Pick them all at once, or add more afterwards.
- Put them in the right order with the ↑ and ↓ buttons. The top file comes first in the finished PDF.
- If you only want certain pages from a file, type them in that file's Pages box, like 1-3 or 2,5,8. Leave it as all to keep everything.
- Give the finished file a name.
- Tap Merge and download.
Reading the result
Each file shows how many pages it has once it has been read. After merging, the tool tells you how many pages went into the new file and how big it is. That total should match the pages you asked for — if it does not, check your Pages boxes. The finished size is usually close to the sizes of the parts added together; it is not made smaller, because nothing is compressed.
What this tool cannot do
- It cannot open a PDF that needs a password. Remove the password in the app that made it, then merge.
- It does not make the file smaller. Merging four large scans gives you one large PDF.
- It does not change page size. If one file is A4 and another is Letter, the finished PDF keeps both sizes, and printing can look uneven.
- Filled-in form fields and digital signatures may be lost, because a signature only stays valid for the exact file it was made for.
- It does not turn photos into a PDF. Use JPG to PDF first, then merge.
- Very large files, or many files at once, can be slow or run out of memory on an older phone. Try fewer at a time.
Your documents stay on your device
Nothing is uploaded. Your browser reads each PDF from your own phone or computer, builds the new document there, and hands it straight back to you. No file is sent anywhere and no copy is kept. This matters more than usual with PDFs, because the things people merge are often private — contracts, pay slips, medical letters, certificates.
Questions people ask
Is there a limit on how many files?
There is no fixed limit. What limits you is your device's memory, not a rule on our side.
Does merging reduce the quality?
No. Pages are copied across as they are. Nothing is re-drawn or re-compressed.
Can I change the order after adding files?
Yes, use the arrow buttons any time before you merge.
Why did one of my files fail to open?
Almost always a password, or a file that is damaged. The tool says which file it was and skips it rather than producing a broken result.
